After you have applied for a First Adult Passport, Her Majesty's Passport Office will write to you. On receiving this letter, you will be required to make an appointment for an interview at one of their offices.
During this interview you will be asked questions which a person attempting to steal your identity would not know the answers to.
Please be aware that these offices are for interviews only. The interview typically lasts 30 minutes. Following the interview, the passport office will commence with the processing of your passport, which can then be tracked online.
The standard length of the application process with Her Majesty's Passport Office can be up to 6 weeks.
